Tune in now to KUOW 94.9 FM for a discussion on the cost of college, with: John Burbank, executive director of the Economic Opportunity Institute, Anthony P. Carnevale, director and research professor of the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce, and  Jill Wakefield, chancellor of Seattle Community Colleges.

The Cost Of College: College students won a round last week when Congress acted to keep interest rates from doubling on federal student loans, saving students millions of dollars. It’s good news for borrowers, but the cost of college continues to climb. Over the last decade, tuition at the University of Washington has more than doubled, and student debt in the US has topped $1 trillion. That’s higher than the country’s credit–card debt. Is the price of a college education worth it? And where will tomorrow’s students find the money?
